Crazy 2k behavior.Windows 2k SP4 5.00.2195 PC is an older Pentium III, 700mhz, x86 Family 6 Model 8 Stepping 1 (for those interested) RAM is a total of 392,692 KB Now, here's the could few problems I've encountered. DirectX won't update from 7.0(4.07.00.0700) or at least that's what the Diagnostic Tool says. Yes, I've tried 8.1 from W.M.Com and also downloading the whole update file. Problems uninstalling/deleting printers and installing new ones. One HP 5650 seems to install fine, but the HP 930c launches the installer to 10% then quits. Also, uninstalling the 5650 software works but the printer is still listed in "ghost" form but refuses to delete permanently... Oi. This is a fairly new install of Win2k. I have no such problems with these issues or printers on a seperate XP machine. Gracias for any clues! ChrisMc wrote:

Go to http://tinyurl.com/2vh2sh and enter appropriate printer model, and download driver. Before downloading, to ensure that no ghost residue printer files remain, first delete all traces of hp files from Explorer. Do a search for HP/Hewlett Packard and delete all appropriate folders/files. Then open registry, go to edit/find and delete every instance of hewlett packard/hp. There will be a lot of them. You can delete whole keys (on left side) if they are titled hp/hewlett packard, as well individual values of hp, shown on right side (included in other keys). Make sure you do not delete any instance of 'hp' if it makes up part of a longer string (eg searchplugins). You should backup your registry first before you start any deletions.
