O.T.:Shameless Plug to get Free Software(for me & for you too)for Windows , Linux and the Apple MAC (the PRO Version). Not that I'm leaving VB.NET anytime soon!! But, I received an offer of a free upgrade to their PRO version if people will go to a personal link and request a FREE License (and license code) for their Standard Version. They are giving away a free upgrade to people like me who get the most people to sign up for the FREE Standard version. It is not too bad a language. But, not as good as VB6 or VB.NET. But, I was looking for something that would do both Windows and Linux and was like VB. And Real Basic was it. (I have too hard a time getting Mono to work right in Linux) So, if you are interested, here is the link: http://www.realbasic.com/vb6/index.php?id=CMZJCYDC Click on it and follow the instructions to get your FREE License and download Real Basic Standard. If I happen to be in the top 100 who get the most downloads at their link (they are personalized) then I can get the free upgrade to the PRO versioin that does Linux apps too. ( I need the ability to do Linux on a couple of things). Not to mention, I"M CHEAP !! Thanks james Hey, guys Please don't Kill-File me for this. I'm not deserting camp by any means! From a post in a VB6 group, I was told my post here(and there) was spamming. If anyone else feels that is the case I want to
take this moment to say I am sorry. And if you feel that way , do not follow the link I posted. I did not make the post to offend anyone. Or to be considered a spammer. I don't like spam anymore than the next person. That wasy why I put: OT in the beginning of the Subject line. To let everyone know that the post was not about VB6 or VB.NET. And it was not an ad to sell anything. Just cheap old me trying to get a freebie. james Show quoteHide quote "james" <jjames700ReMoVeMe at earthlink dot net> wrote in message news:uZKbMmWOFHA.3828@TK2MSFTNGP10.phx.gbl... > I recently tried out a new version of Real Basic Standard. I have seen worse, however avoid multiposting, whatever message you get, sent it in one time too the newsgroups that you think that are relevant (crossposting). Than we can see those nice answers as well. Cor "Cor Ligthert" <notmyfirstn***@planet.nl> wrote in message news:efAvA1aOFHA.3388@TK2MSFTNGP10.phx.gbl... Nice answers? You mean flames! I guess I should have cross posted so that everyone here can see the answers I got from one of > James, > > I have seen worse, however avoid multiposting, whatever message you get, sent it in one time too the newsgroups that you think > that are relevant (crossposting). > > Than we can see those nice answers as well. > > Cor the Linux newsgroups I read. I am still going to have to have treatements for the burns in that group! :-) One guy went so far as to tell me that Basic, Visual Basic and soon, VB.NET would be dead and all the coding jobs would be for Java, Perl , and C, C++ & C# developers. I hope some of the people I have worked for don't read that!!! Thanks for putting up with my silly post. I have always been an easy mark for FREE stuff. james
