I am an Access developer considering using vb.net 2005 to develop a database
application.  What options are available for creating reports in
vb.net 2005 in the various versions, such as Stardard and Professional?
Also, are there third party controls
available?

This feature comparison page should tell you most of what you want to know

http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/products/compare/

Note that the Express language editions do not come with a reporting tool.
Visual Web Developer, OTOH, comes with SQL Server Reporting Services. VS
2005 Standard Edition comes with SQL Server Reporting Services only, while
VS 2005 Pro comes with both SQL Server Reporting Services and Crystal
Reports.
I'll leave it to others to mention their favorite 3rd party reporting tools.

The Visual Studio Report Controls now come with all versions of VS2005. As
an Access developer myself, I found these controls easy to use.

and watch the videos.

I'm mantaining a free .net reporting tool that can be used by VS express
versions and free IDE such ad #Develop that don't have reporting support
built in.

If you don't need advanced features I thik my solution is better than
CrystalReport

See signature for link.
