beginning vbi would like to learn vb but when i downloaded the new compiler none of
the instructional information i had was for the new one i would like th location of a free download of the older version and a place to start learning i do have some familiarity with language primarily through the use of HTML any help would be greatly apreciated n00b lol I'm not sure what you mean by "the older version." Do you mean Visual Basic
6.0, Visual Basic .NET 2002, or Visual Basic .NET 2003? None of these products are available free of charge. (Actually, for all of the .NET products, the language compiler and libraries are free; only Visual Studio cost money.) The only full free version is Visual Basic 2005 Express Edition. If your interest is .NET and not Visual Basic 6.0, you should download the free Visual Basic 2005 Express Edition. If you want to develop Web applications, download Visual Web Developer 2005 Express Edition instead. You can find all of them at the following site. http://msdn.microsoft.com/express There are lots of training resources available on the web for free, although I think that tutorial books provide a more consistent training experience. But as usual, I am biased. Amazon.com and other similar sites sell used books at pretty low prices. ----- Tim Patrick Start-to-Finish Visual Basic 2005 Show quoteHide quote > i would like to learn vb but when i downloaded the new compiler none > of the instructional information i had was for the new one i would > like th location of a free download of the older version and a place > to start learning i do have some familiarity with language primarily > through the use of HTML > > any help would be greatly apreciated > n00b lol Hi Lol,
