He didn't need to kick Italy's ass. THe Germans occupied Italy
during WWII. So if the Allies managed to take Italy, it was the
fault of the Germans.

The Italians don't need to conquer the world. Much of what
is beautiful in the world was created by the Italians during
the Renaissance and afterwards. Does the name Michaelangelo
ring a bell? Leonardo da Vinci? Gallileo? Any of those sound
familiar?
