I know in C#  under VS2005 there is a nifty "refactor" menu that has a few
useful commands that i'd love to have in VB.NET.. anyone know how to get
similar functionality in VB.NET 2005? add-ons or anything? thanks!

Smokey,
VS 2005 does not ship with Refactoring for VB. Instead there is a free
download:

http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/vbasic/ms789083.aspx

Be certain to register the free version as it entitles you to more free
refactorings...

Hope this helps
