Changing user interface

Hello,

I am new to the Visual Basic language.  I have written a program and
would like to change the user interface.  The plain form ui is so
boring - Typical square gray background.  Can anyone suggest a vb
tutorial on how to change the shape/gui of a form?  Can this be done in
Visual basic?  Do I need to use another language to develop a gui and
use vb as the back end?  Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!
