OT: App respositoryHi
I plan to develop a db app for free distribution but do not wish to provide source code. Is there a repository like SourceForge.net available which is not for open source? Many Thanks Regards hello,
I don't know of any but it's an interesting question i would like to know the answer :) discussion : e7xWkpH6JHA.3***@TK2MSFTNGP05.phx.gbl..."John" <info@nospam.infovis.co.uk> a écrit dans le message de groupe de Show quoteHide quote > Hi > > I plan to develop a db app for free distribution but do not wish to > provide source code. you upload your compiled code and mark it as free? If you have a gmail.com account, one option is to check out is a GOOGLE GROUP where you create a support forum with a storage area to hold your files. It doesn't have to be source code. http://groups.google.com -- Show quoteHide quotegillardg wrote: > hello, > I don't know of any but it's an interesting question > i would like to know the answer > :) > > "John" <info@nospam.infovis.co.uk> a écrit dans le message de groupe de > discussion : e7xWkpH6JHA.3***@TK2MSFTNGP05.phx.gbl... >> Hi >> >> I plan to develop a db app for free distribution but do not wish to >> provide source code. But, as it has proven almost trivially easy to break security on Access applications, it would be interesting to hear how you intend to protect your source. Unless they've changed, simtel.net does that. I think download.com also hosts files. The down side is that you can't always get your updates online, or get your old software removed. It's not under your control once you've uploaded. And good luck getting any kind of response from CNet/ download.com about anything.
