Safe Mode juggles my desktopw2kPro
I have a fair number of shortcuts on my desktop that I have grouped to suit my needs. Whenever I boot in safe mode (spyware scans etc.) and then restart my m/c the desktop becomes "jumbled". The groups I had set up are scattered and some items appear to be missing when they are actually present as, when I attempt to re-create them, I get the shortcut with an appended sequence #. Is there any way to "lock" the desktop to prevent this-or am I missing something fundamental? -- Regards; Rob ------------------------------------------------------------------------ RWN wrote:

Cheers, Cliff Thanks but, I was only using that as an example-and won't argue the fact.
The problem is that when I boot in safe mode, for whatever reason, my desktop gets jumbled. -- Show quoteHide quoteRegards; Rob ------------------------------------------------------------------------ "Enkidu" <enkidu.***@com.cliffp.com> wrote in message news:42fd894b@news2.actrix.gen.nz... > RWN wrote: > > w2kPro > > I have a fair number of shortcuts on my desktop that I > > have grouped to suit my needs. > > > > Whenever I boot in safe mode (spyware scans etc.) and > > then restart my m/c the desktop becomes "jumbled". > > > You don't normally have to boot to safe mode to run spyware > scans. > > Cheers, > > Cliff > > -- > > Barzoomian the Martian - http://barzoomian.blogspot.com |
