Hi,

I deploy the SUS server for testing. And configured the client to point to
the SUS Server for the updates. But my client doesn't seems to download the
update file from the server.

When I checked the Windows Update log file, this is what I get :
"2005-03-07 09:19:38  01:19:38   Success   IUENGINE       Starting
2005-03-07 09:19:40  01:19:40   Success   IUENGINE       Determining machine
configuration

update catalog from http://172.28.78.102/autoupdate/getmanifest.asp
2005-03-07 09:19:40  01:19:40   Success   IUENGINE       Determining machine
configuration
2005-03-07 09:19:41  01:19:41   Success   IUENGINE       Querying software
update catalog from http://172.28.78.102/autoupdate/getmanifest.asp
2005-03-07 09:19:41  01:19:41   Success   IUENGINE       Determining machine

2005-03-07 09:19:41  01:19:41   Success   IUENGINE       Querying software

2005-03-07 09:19:41  01:19:41   Success   IUENGINE       Shutting down
2005-03-07 09:19:42  01:19:42   Success   IUCTL          Shutting down"

Is it there is some settings that I did not configure that preventing the
client from downloading the updates from server?

Did you approve an update that the client requires?

/neo

ps - the log you posted doesn't show any problems.  Just that it was
successful in pulling the catalog.  This log will not show downloads in
progress.  http://www.susserver.com/FAQs/FAQ-InterpretingAUStateValues.asp
has a good way of interpreting the AUState registry value to see if AU/BITS
is working on a task.

The log you posted showed that it pulled the catalog w/out any issues.  When
you took a look at the link to interpret the AUState value in the registry,
what value is the client sitting at?

Sure and if the sus server is named testsrv001, then I would answer yes the
client has been successfully redirected.
