NT Backup Media Selection Problem"Backup Destination" option is gray'ed out and only allows me to backup to a file. I have the Yosemite 7.0 SP4 installed and working fine. Device manager see's my Seagate STT20000A just fine. Removable Storage Manager is also running. I have this almost identical hardware & software configuration running on a test server with no problems. Yosemite & NTBackup are playing nicely together there. The server this is running correctly has SATA hard drives and in IDE interface for the tape drive. The problem server has a SCSI RAID for the hard drives and an IDE tape drive, just like the test unit. The tape drive was not installed at the time the OS was loaded if that matters to anyone. Is there something in the registry that needs tweek'ed? I've searched for on-line for this issue and can not find anything relating to it. Any help will be appreciated! Thank you! Bill,
NTBackup depends on the "removable storage" service. Make sure the drive is listed in the "manage" MMC under "removable storage" under "physical locations" and there aren't any errors there. If there are or it's not listed you can rebuild the database: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;235032 Also, some OEM drivers aren't RS aware drivers and will never list there so make sure you are using a driver provided from the manufacturer.
