My IBM 300 GL PCs freeze on "Windows is starting up" screen.  I successfully
resinstalled Win2K but upon rebooting, the same problem occurs.  I can't get
past the start up screen.

Restart, press F8 (function key 8), choose SAFE MODE. Does it boot then?

You can also boot to the last known good configuration

Thanks for your post.  I booted in Safe Mode and got more than one screen of
the following message.

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\winnt\system\32\......(a different file
per line).sys

Upon booting to the Last Known Good Config, I got past the "Win is starting
up screen," but the PC froze on a plain blue screen without an error
message).  However, on my second try, it worked!

Thanks so much!  I have serveral lab computer with this same issue.
