chkdsk found and fixed one or more errors on the volumeWhen I run CHKDSK /R from the Windows Recovery console, I get the
message "chkdsk found and fixed one or more errors on the volume". If I run it again immediately after I do not receive that message. However, if I log in and log off Windows without running starting any apps, then run CHKDSK /R from the recovery console I receive that message. Why??? Running Windows XP with all service but MS stuff turned off. Thanks The drive may have failed. I'd download and run a disk diagnostic utility
from the drive manufacturer's web site. -- Show quoteHide quoteRegards, Dave Patrick ....Please no email replies - reply in newsgroup. one. This is the second HD that I have tried. They both gave the same error message. It is a Seagate drive and I did you their disk diagnostic utility, but it did not find any problems with the drive. Jeff Komatsu wrote:

the recovery console , this time try it the same way BUT click on start then click accessories then click command prompt & type: chkdsk /f then press enter & then answer the question with 'y' for yes & then reboot the computer. let me know what happens.
