VPN using dynamic IPI want to setup a VPN Server, But we does not have any fixed IP, How can I do
this? Someone tell me to use Dynamic DNS service, but my boss want to know if there are any other method to do the same things Thanks very much for helping to solve this problem!!! You can, of course, do it manually: - Get your VPN server to send an automatic EMail once every hour. - Examine the header of this EMail and extract the external IP address. It's a little tedious but it does not rely on DynDNS. First, thanks for the reply, but the method you suggest is reject by my boss
the problem is that, my boss is concern on the progam that the DDNS service provide. If I use DDNS, I must using it's program to update the IP, my boss ask me if these kind progam is secure or not, will it be easily hacked by someone? a trojan horse used by the DynDNS people to hack into your PC. While this is, of course possible, it is equally possible that Microsoft Word contains code to let Microsoft hack into your PC. The question your boss needs to ask himself is this: Which software suppliers does he trust, which ones does he not trust, and what are his criteria? Write your own service if you don't trust DynDNS!
