Does anyone know if having encrypted tape backups are possible?  Is there a
particular software or device that will do encrypt backups done to tapes for
windows servers?  We are currently running Backup Exec and encryption is not
supported in BE.

Any suggestions are appreciated.
Thank you.

Yes, this is possible; there are some commercial packages.

There are several approaches: integrated backup/crypto and
backup-then-encrypt.

Google "encrypted tape backup".

Think carefully about the pros and cons of encrypted backup.

One point to remember: What people REALLY want is not [foolproof] backup
but [foolproof] RESTORE!
