Drag and Drop inopHAve a W2K Pro workstation on a W2K Domain. It suddenly lost ability to drag
and drop or copy and paste via a mapped drive to files on server. All other W2K and XP workstations can drag and drop and copy and paste on those same targeted files. Have looked at all internet options. Tried to follow Error Message: Your current security settings prohibit copying or moving files from this zone (284995). But no help. Should the Group Policy Object on the server be reset? Any help greatly appreciated From: "J. Should the Group Policy Object on the server be reset? | | Any help greatly appreciated http://www.ik-cs.com/programs/virtools/Multi_AV.exe To use this utility, perform the following... Execute; Multi_AV.exe { Note: You must use the default folder C:\AV-CLS } Choose; Unzip Choose; Close Execute; C:\AV-CLS\StartMenu.BAT { or Double-click on 'Start Menu' in C:\AV-CLS } NOTE: You may have to disable your software FireWall or allow WGET.EXE to go through your FireWall to allow it to download the needed AV vendor related files. C:\AV-CLS\StartMenu.BAT -- { or Double-click on 'Start Menu' in C:\AV-CLS} This will bring up the initial menu of choices and should be executed in Normal Mode. This way all the components can be downloaded from each AV vendor's web site. The choices are; Sophos, Trend, McAfee, Kaspersky, Exit this menu and Reboot the PC. You can choose to go to each menu item and just download the needed files or you can download the files and perform a scan in Normal Mode. Once you have downloaded the files needed for each scanner you want to use, you should reboot the PC into Safe Mode [F8 key during boot] and re-run the menu again and choose which scanner you want to run in Safe Mode. It is suggested to run the scanners in both Safe Mode and Normal Mode. When the menu is displayed hitting 'H' or 'h' will bring up a more comprehensive PDF help file. http://www.ik-cs.com/multi-av.htm * * * Please report back your results * * * Error says app is not a valid windows 32 application.
From your initial instruction I took the down load to be a zipped file not an exe. However trying to convert produced no useable extracted file(s). Additionally am blocked from running web based virus scans, cannot open Java console to make sure permission is set to pass scan. What now?...........Please!! Show quoteHide quote "David H. Are you saying that when you download MULTI_AV.EXE from the URL -- http://www.ik-cs.com/programs/virtools/Multi_AV.exe and save it to a disk file and execute it, you get an error that it is NOT a valid windows 32 application ? Yes
When I try to launch it I get back an error that it is not a valid Win32 application. Show quoteHide quote "David H. Lipman" wrote: > From: "J. Whitmire" <JWhitm***@discussions.microsoft.com> Reboot into Safe Mode and try executing Multi_AV.exe again.| Yes | When I try to launch it I get back an error that it is not a valid Win32 | application. I was finally able to run the exe and scanned in both normal and safe mode
with all scanners and found nothing. I also ran the Microsoft Malicious Software removal program which also detected nothing. I also thought it might be an access/permissions issue but that user account can drag and drop and cut and paste via the same mapped drives to server files from all other workstations. The Global Policy covers the local machine so that dosen't seem to be the cause. Internet Explorer also give DNS server not found for MSN.COM with a really grainy resolution leading me to believe it's part of the virus. Any other ideas?? J Show quoteHide quote "David H.
