back onto its original domain, it is logging on fine, but unable to browse or use any resources, incl. email. when i tried to rejoin it to the domain, i get the message domain controller not found. Any ideas? -- Network Administrator Neal & Massy Automotive Limited Trinidad "Nigel Sampath" <NigelSamp***@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message This could be caused by your PC-based virus scannernews:E3CB4184-D75E-45BB-B8A8-F5F90DFFBCF4@microsoft.com... > I have a laptop machine that i tested on another domain. dns servrs might be misnamed, but this is not so. I tried restoring to earlier config, no luck. I'm trying to avoid reinstalling the entire sys. Would using control panel to remove and then reinstall the net card be of any value? -- Show quoteHide quoteNetwork Administrator Neal & Massy Automotive Limited Trinidad "Pegasus (MVP)" wrote: > > "Nigel Sampath" <NigelSamp***@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:E3CB4184-D75E-45BB-B8A8-F5F90DFFBCF4@microsoft.com... > > I have a laptop machine that i tested on another domain. - Ping the server. - Map a share on the server. - Join the machine to the domain. Removing and re-installing all network components is an easy option that often fixes problems. I will have to remove the network components I
guess. Would the OS have the drivers stored or would the restore cd be necessary? The reason i ask is because I don't have access to the restore media. Its a dell inspiron 600m laptop. Or would a generia Xp Pro cd suffice? -- Show quoteHide quoteNetwork Administrator Neal & Massy Automotive Limited Trinidad "Pegasus (MVP)" wrote: > In such cases I usually start at the ground floor: > - Ping the server. > - Map a share on the server. > - Join the machine to the domain. > > Removing and re-installing all network components is > an easy option that often fixes problems. > > > "Nigel Sampath" <NigelSamp***@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:EE2542CB-F805-42DA-97B6-41E7930767E5@microsoft.com... > > Both are turned off.
