Low Disk Space InformationDoes anyone know where I can find information how Windows (2k/XP/etc.)
determine how little disk space is too little? I am trying to put together some documentation for a product, and need to be able to tell my users either where to find it or what it is (preferably what it is). I came across a few articles on MSDN, but they either appeared to be for old software (Win98/SE) and/or the numbers didn't seem correct from personal experience. (E.g. My current Win2k system with a 20GB hdd and 256 MB RAM reports low disk space at 1 GB. According to the doc, it should have until it went under 200 MB.) Help very much appreciated, TIA, BRM This article may help.

Your swap/page file by default uses 1.5* ram - in your case 384mb Many win processess will not run with a low disk space eg Cleanup, defrag Show quoteHide quote "Dave Patrick" <mail@Nospam.DSPatrick.com> wrote in message news:OTzsXWaNFHA.244@TK2MSFTNGP12.phx.gbl... > This article may help. > > http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q112509/ > > -- > Regards, > > Dave Patrick ....Please no email replies - reply in newsgroup. > Microsoft Certified Professional > Microsoft MVP [Windows] > http://www.microsoft.com/protect > > "BRM" wrote: > | Does anyone know where I can find information how Windows (2k/XP/etc.) > | determine how little disk space is too little?
