Low Disk Space Information

Does anyone know where I can find information how Windows (2k/XP/etc.)
determine how little disk space is too little?  I am trying to put together
some documentation for a product, and need to be able to tell my users either
where to find it or what it is (preferably what it is).

I came across a few articles on MSDN, but they either appeared to be for old
software (Win98/SE) and/or the numbers didn't seem correct from personal
experience. (E.g. My current Win2k system with a 20GB hdd and 256 MB RAM
reports low disk space at 1 GB. According to the doc, it should have until it
went under 200 MB.)

Help very much appreciated,

TIA,

BRM

As well as this,
Your swap/page file by default uses 1.5* ram - in your case 384mb
Many win processess will not run with a low disk space eg Cleanup, defrag
