Folders visible for users with no perms to themOn my Win 2003 server (and before) even though a user has no permissions to
view a folder, they can still see it in explorer. I'm migrating from Netware, which had no problem with this. I thought Win 2003 SP1 sorted this problem, but I'm wary of installing it because of the bad stories that have appeared. Can anyone confirm if SP1 hides folders when a user doesn't have permissions to it ? Here is a link to a MS Word doc (139 KB) which has everything included in
the Windows 2003 SP 1 update: http://download.microsoft.com/download/d/8/5/d850add9-0a38-45bd-a0b4-fd15c6f08a39/SP1ProductOverview_120904.doc Windows 2003 SP 1 Page: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?amp;displaylang=en&familyid=22CFC239-337C-4D81-8354-72593B1C1F43&displaylang=en Direct download to the English version of Windows 2003 SP 1 : http://download.microsoft.com/download/1/2/7/127c5938-d36a-4405-9df1-f00d57495652/WindowsServer2003-KB889101-SP1-x86-ENU.exe I hope the above helps
