Hi, I'm trying to modify the startUp programs on my Win2000, but I got an
error message when typing msconfig on the RUN tab. Is that a problem, or how
can I eliminate it. Thanks.

I had meant to also mention that the file in that link is simply the
msconfig.exe taken right out of WXP which works just fine in W2K

I have just looked through the links you provided & saw a one that you
should NEVER use. Adware Aware produces false positives. I recommend that
you use SpyBot Search & Destroy, plus, its totally FREE. Here's a link to

any of them from starting at login, you'll have to delete shortcuts

out that, in order to make such system modifications requires one to
have administrative privileges to the machine in question.  I should
also point out that one should not even consider editing the registry
unless he is fully confident that he knows exactly what is going to
happen as a result of each and every change.
