virtual memoryI have 4 gb of ram im my desktop computer and depends on how i configure my
apiture size for my agp in the bios i got 3.7gb it shows up as but anyway my question is usually you set 1.5 for min and 3 for max what should i set it to? but isnt that max windows will allow 4gb if you use the /3gb switch? Virtual memory setting refers to the paging file. The /3gb switch
doesn't apply, and the "missing memory" between 3.x and the 4 GB is due to PCI addressing. the 1.5 you refer to is actually 1.5 times the amount of memory the pagefile size defaults to. Is your computer exhibiting any memory related issues? NO? I would suggest leaving the system to manage it. sthompson wrote: Show quoteHide quote > I have 4 gb of ram im my desktop computer and depends on how i configure my > apiture size for my agp in the bios i got 3.7gb it shows up as but anyway my > question is usually you set 1.5 for min and 3 for max what should i set it > to? but isnt that max windows will allow 4gb if you use the /3gb switch? > Ya but i dont think in windows 2000 pro you can have system manage it i think
