Turn on computer ,2000 professional, left click does not work. Have to use
enter button. Have to use control/escape to get to all programs. Have to use
ctrl/alt/delete to get to shut down. Novice, please help!

Try a different mouse.

If it is a corded mouse, perhaps the connection at the PC came loose. Shut
the PC down and disconnect and reconnect the mouse to the PC.
Try another mouse.
This would hold true with a laptop also.
