Using backup driver filesI used various backup utilities to save driver files. After a reinstall,
there seems no way to use the backup files. In each driver folder is a oem.inf file, but it does not function as an install, same for the executables in the folder. Is there any way to utilize the files in a driver folder to reinstall the driver? If not, what is the purpose of backing up driver files? ms

Some use an ..exe file to install a driver, some use the .inf file and some rely on automatic hardware detection mechanisms. Have a look at drvback if you need a tool to back up your drivers: from http://sourceforge.net/projects/drvback/.

I looked at drvback, it is written in Net, I avoid it. The graphics driver is the one I really need, the install CD installs Net so I won't use it. So I guess there is no way to use those backup-created files? ms
