In the past I have fiddled with things and seem to have broken the
W32TM time service.  Can someone tell me how to get that service
running and how to enter a desireable time server?  TIA

Hello Stubby,

How do you realize that it is broken? Errors in the event viewer, please
be more specific.

Best regards

The Event Viewer system log contains a few entries showing w32time
giving Event ID: 11 warnings, "The NTP Server didn't respond."

I ran w32time in a cmd box and used the -v (verbose) flag.  It is
using time.nist.gov which must be a built in address.  It seems to be
working except for the occasional warnings in the log.  Perhaps that
is due to everyone asking for the time almost simultaneously with some
getting delayed.

The bottom line is this is a non-problem and I'll let it be.  Thanks
for your interest.

Hello Stubby,

Assuming that you have a domain, the DC with the PDCEmulator role has to
be configured to an external time source with:
net time /setsntp:<ipaddress of time server>

Also make sure that the UPD port 123 is open in your firewall if you use one.

Best regards

That reports OK but you might try a different one.
