Screen Blanker after Screensaver

I use the MS 3D Flowerbox standard screensaver, set to run after 15 minutes
of no activity.

Since a repair, now the screensaver runs for several minutes, then some
screenblanker runs. I have looked in process utilities, see nothing
unusual, but W2K has a long list of processes, only a few of which are my
utilities.

How to cancel the screen blanker so screensaver will continue to run?

perhaps review the settings in the Power Options for video? Or the
Settings in the BIOS for Video?

Thanks, I noticed something that may relate. It's like a setting has been
changed. With a screensaver, hit a key and instantly you see the active
screen.

With this blanker, there is a long, maybe 3 second wait until the screen
returns. As if the OS was in standby. I looked in 2 books, can't find much
on this.

Does W2K have a Hibernate or Standby mode? I never use them so have no
knowledge of them. If those modes exist, how to get to them to unselect?

If it's going to Standby that would explain the symptoms. See Power
Options in Control Panel.

Yes, that was, IMO the solution. I'd already checked, this was a setting
change done by the tech. I always have the monitor set to never turn off,
only by computer shutdown. I found it had been changed to off in 20
minutes. Set it back to Never, that took care of it.

Thanks
