external HD -- win not reading....hi,
I have a Western Digital external HD, I'm trying to connect it to an old Win 2000 machine, it says it needs to install the driver, but it prompts me to SEARCH for it, I don't know where to search... if I choose option "choose from among drives in yr machine" or something like that it takes me to a long list, I don't know which one to choose.. how can I make this work, please.. thank you.. You're probably looking for the controller driver (assuming USB here). In
other words the device the disk is plugged into. Try the manufacturer's web site. -- Show quoteHide quoteRegards, Dave Patrick ....Please no email replies - reply in newsgroup.
