HELP - can't open IE6 with windows 2000HELP - suddenly when I turn on my machine, I get a 'Welcome to windows 2000'
getting started - and it won't go away. Also, if I click on my IE shortcuts it brings me to a 'welcome to Internet Connection Wizard' - I can't access IE at all. I have also lost some apps that i used to clean my memory (no pun intended) and other applications. I've been getting to the internet thru Mozilla, but i'm still having internet issues. Anybody have any thoughts. I did run a 'registry cleaner' the other day when these issues occurred so I thought installing a backup of my registry would have helped but it didn't. Anybody have any thoughts on how to fix my IE. And it takes FOREVER for anything to load. I tried run PC anti-virus and it didn't show any problems. Sounds like your profile has become corrupt and a new one has been created

Were you having problems? If so, state them so that it my help others help you. Does your Registry Cleaner keep a backup of what it deleted? How old was the registry backup you used? You could also try an IE repair or boot up to a recent good configuration. While your waiting for other answers, run the following two free anti-spyware programs.
